The Norma Chipman Wells Loyalty grant was established in 1987 to recognize her services to the Fraternity. She served as Grand President from 1934-36 and owned a drugstore in San Leandro, CA with her sister Clara, who was also an LKS member. They attended many conventions together and were known for their real-life sisterhood. At the end of Norma’s presidency, she presented incoming president Cora E. Craven with a gavel made of redwood. This gavel continues to be handed down to each Grand President 80 years later. This grant requires the applicant write a statement showing evidence of loyalty to the fraternity.
